The person behind the website
This website is set up as a portfolio site for my study/work as an industrial design engineer. At the moment I am rounding of my ‘’Industrial Design Engineering’’ masters at the University of Twente. Within this studies I do a specialisation in ‘’Human Technology Relations’’. Within this specialisation the focus lays on learning to understand the user’s needs and wishes. Within this direction, especially children get my attention, as this target group asks for other strategies than an adult target group would. By implementing new, creative ways of communication this group is able to clarify their needs and wishes. Therefore, I love to see when a product meets a child’s needs and clearly brings them joy. Ideally, I would also like the child to be able to learn something at the same time. During my bachelor I paid extra attention to the learning component by following the minor ‘’Leren Lesgeven’’ within the technical subjects. By giving lessons at a secondary school I gained a lot of experiences with relation to preparing work and class management.
Next to my study as an industrial design engineer I have other hobbies and side-line activities. I work for 8 hours a week at ‘’Action’’. Here I learned working together with others and also customer focus is important. Next to this, I work voluntary for the Graaf Obstacle Run, a yearly event taking place in Lochem, Gelderland. As the driving force of the PR team I make sure that the event will be known by possible participants. Music is one of my passions. This manifests itself in baton twirling and playing the saxophone. For a couple of years I have given twirl lessons to young children. Currently, I started again with fanatically doing the sports myself. I play the alto saxophone within the a local orchestra near the village where I live. Next to this, I like to read and am often busy with a variety of craft projects.
