The person behind the website
This website is set up as a portfolio site for my study/work as an industrial design engineer. At the moment I am in my ‘’Industrial Design Engineering’’ masters at the University of Twente. Within this studies I do a specialisation in ‘’Human Technology Relations’’. Within this specialisation the focus lays on learning to understand the user’s needs and wishes. My point of interest lies within the field of users’ thinking patterns. Therefore I like to do research into this field. Within this subject, especially children get my attention, as this target group asks for other strategies than an adult target group would. By implementing new, creative ways of communication this group is able to clarify their needs and wishes. Next to this I have an interest for creating presentation materials using Figma and programming websites. I can use my creativity for this and try to get a clear message out. During my bachelor I followed the minor ‘’Leren Lesgeven’’ within the technical subjects for about three months. By giving lessons at a secondary school I gained a lot of experiences with relation to preparing work and class management.
Next to my study as an industrial design engineer I have other hobbies and side-line activities. I work for 8 hours a week at ‘’Action’’. Here I learned working together with others and also customer focus is important. Next to this, I work voluntary for the Graaf Obstacle Run, a yearly event taking place in Lochem, Gelderland. As the driving force of the PR team I make sure that the event will be known by possible participants. Music is one of my passions. This manifests itself in twirling and playing the saxophone. For a couple of years I have given twirl lessons to young children. Currently, I am fanatically doing the sports again myself. I play the alto saxophone within the local orchestra in the village where I live. Next to this, I like to read and am often busy with a variety of craft projects.
